Uganda head coach, Paul Put, has praised the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of their final Group C fixture at the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
The Belgian tactician described Nigeria as a team packed with exceptional talent and top European experience, adding that his players will approach the game with respect but not fear.
Uganda are grouped alongside Nigeria, Tunisia, and Tanzania, and will face the three-time African champions in their final group match at the Fez Stadium.
“They [Nigeria] are a perennial powerhouse. There are threats everywhere from their squad with top talent and European experience,” Put told CAF’s official website.
He further noted that Tunisia is a “highly organised” side, while Tanzania brings “energy and familiarity” to the competition.
“We will respect all of them, but we are not intimidated. We will give a good account of ourselves,” Put added.
The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will take place in Morocco, with Group C expected to be one of the most competitive in the tournament.
