Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington has opened up about a life-threatening health crisis she faced in June while in the United Kingdom with her husband, Banky W, and their two sons.
In an emotional Instagram post, the Sugar Rush star revealed that she underwent an unexpected surgery after what she described as a “horrific” medical emergency.
“I could have lost my life in June,” she wrote. “What I went through was horrific and ended with an unplanned surgery, and strangely, the surgery itself was the least dramatic part of it all.”
Adesua explained that the incident occurred during her trip to the UK for two speaking engagements, adding that she believes divine intervention played a key role in her survival.
“If even one single detail had been different, I wouldn’t be here today. When I think about it, I shudder,” she said.
The actress, who has long been vocal about her faith, shared that the experience strengthened her spiritual convictions and deepened her appreciation for life.
“There’s nothing anyone can tell me, God is real,” she affirmed.
Adesua concluded her post with a heartfelt message to her followers, urging them to value each day and live with kindness and compassion.
“Let’s choose to be softer, kinder, gentler, forgiving, patient, loving, and peaceful. I’ll never take another day for granted, neither should you,” she wrote.
Her revelation has since sparked an outpouring of support from fans and colleagues across the entertainment industry, many expressing gratitude for her recovery and admiration for her courage.
