Ademola Lookman played a pivotal role as Atalanta secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt at the Deutsche Bank Park on Wednesday night in the UEFA Champions League.
The win marked La Dea’s first triumph under new coach Raffaele Palladino, who had made his managerial debut just days earlier in a 3-1 loss to Napoli, following Ivan Juric’s departure. Lookman was directly involved in two of the goals, opening the scoring on the hour mark with a clinical finish after connecting with a precise cross from Charles De Ketelaere. He then provided the assist for Ederson’s strike minutes later to double Atalanta’s advantage.
The comfortable victory propelled Atalanta to 10th place in the Serie A standings, offering a boost in confidence as they continue their European campaign.
Reflecting on the performance, Lookman told UEFA’s official website: “It’s a big performance for the team. It’s a good victory away from home. In the first half we had a few chances, and coming out in the second half, we knew we had to create chances again.”
