Super Eagles goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye has assured Nigerians that the team will give their all to secure victory when they face Rwanda’s Amavubi in Saturday’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Uyo.
Nigeria, three-time African champions, must claim maximum points against Adel Amrouche’s men to keep alive their hopes of reaching the tournament, which will be jointly hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
The Eagles were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Zimbabwe in their last home outing, and Adeleye insists another slip-up cannot be afforded.
“We are ready for Rwanda, they must fall. Everybody is ready for the game. We know what’s at stake, and we can’t play with this opportunity,” Adeleye told reporters in Uyo.
The goalkeeper returns to the national team setup after missing out on the squad to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and is eager to make his mark.
