Afrobeats singer Adekunle Gold has shared that an emotional moment with his five-year-old daughter, Adejare, inspired him to deliver an unforgettable performance at his recently concluded concert in London.
The singer revealed that Adejare opened the show by confidently introducing her father to the audience, a moment he described as deeply moving and unforgettable.
According to Adekunle Gold, hearing his daughter’s voice from backstage filled him with a renewed sense of purpose and responsibility, pushing him to give his very best on stage.
He said the emotional connection made the long nights of preparation, sacrifice, and hard work leading up to the concert feel worthwhile.
“Hearing my little girl’s voice from backstage, confident, proud, bragging about her daddy and calling me onto that stage, I knew I had no choice but to give everything I had,” the singer wrote. “I couldn’t let her down. I couldn’t let you down.”
Reflecting on the journey to the London show, Adekunle Gold spoke about the exhaustion, uncertainty, and commitment that preceded the performance, noting that the overwhelming love he felt that night made every sacrifice meaningful.
“All the nights leading to this show without sleep, dreaming, working, believing, hoping, worrying,” he added. “But on this night, more than anything else, I felt loved, truly loved. And it made every sacrifice worth it.”
The experience, he said, has motivated him to take the concert experience beyond London, with plans to hit the road. He confirmed that Lagos will be the first stop on the tour.
“I can’t wait to take this experience on the road, starting with my amazing BFF in Lagos,” Adekunle Gold stated, hinting that fans will not have to wait long for the next performance.
The heartfelt revelation has resonated with fans, many of whom praised the singer for blending family, vulnerability, and artistry in his music journey.
