Afrobeats singer Adekunle Gold has spoken candidly about his decision to live a peaceful life and steer clear of unnecessary conflict, describing it as a conscious and personal choice.
In a recent video making the rounds online, the Orente crooner said he has little tolerance for trouble and prefers to focus on simply living without drama.
“Some of us, we just don’t like trouble. In fact, I don’t want to be near it, I just want to live,” he said.
Adekunle Gold explained that his approach is rooted in self-awareness, noting that he understands his own temperament well enough to know when to step back. According to him, avoiding conflict helps prevent regretful reactions.
“Me, I know myself. My mouth is not good at all. Anybody who knows me knows my mouth is not good. So, I don’t even want to say anything out of regret, so I’d rather just step away,” he added.
The singer also addressed the common perception that walking away from confrontation is a sign of weakness. He clarified that choosing peace does not mean he is incapable of standing his ground when the situation demands it.
Questioning why some people seem drawn to conflict, Adekunle Gold challenged that mindset, stressing the value of peace of mind.
“What is your mind like? Why do you not like peace? Why do you not like peace of mind? Why don’t you just walk away?” he asked.
The remarks have resonated with fans, many of whom praised the singer for promoting emotional maturity and calm living in an industry often marked by controversy.
