Afrobeats star Adekunle Gold is gearing up to release his sixth studio album, “FUJI,” on October 3, 2025, marking a significant milestone in his musical journey.
In a recent post on X, the singer-songwriter described the upcoming project as a reflection of his personal and professional evolution. “FUJI is a story about where I come from, who I have become, and where I’m heading,” he shared, emphasizing the album’s deeply autobiographical nature.
The record has been five years in the making and, according to Gold, represents his most ambitious work yet. He described the album as a chronicle of life’s highs and lows, including personal milestones such as the grief of losing his father and the joy of welcoming his daughter.
“I’ve been working quietly on something that marks a new chapter for me,” Gold wrote. “This album is my story—the lessons I’ve learned, the friendships I’ve lost, the wins I’ve celebrated, and so much more. Listen with open ears, because I won’t be revealing any features until you’ve experienced it for yourself.”
The singer, whose real name is Adekunle Kosoko, has built a reputation for creative reinvention. His previous album, “Tequila Ever After” (2023), featured 18 tracks and collaborations with international stars including Pharrell Williams, Khalid, Simi, and Odumodublvck.
With “FUJI,” Adekunle Gold promises a fresh sound that fuses traditional Nigerian music with contemporary styles, signaling a return to his roots while exploring new creative directions. Fans can expect a deeply personal and dynamic listening experience when the album drops this fall.
