The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Borno State says it has resolved internal disagreements that recently unsettled its structure, paving the way for electronic membership registration and its upcoming party congress.
At a press briefing in Maiduguri on Tuesday evening, the State Chairman, Comrade Mohammed Umar Bolori, withdrew earlier allegations of misconduct and deep divisions within the party. He described his January 12, 2026 remarks as “wrong and erroneous,” stating that subsequent consultations clarified the misunderstandings.
Bolori said reconciliation meetings among stakeholders restored confidence and unity within the party. He also apologised to the ADC’s national leadership, particularly Kashim Ibrahim Imam, and reaffirmed his commitment to the party’s collective interest.
As part of the resolution, the state chapter formally recognised newly inaugurated leadership structures. These include a transitional committee chaired by Alhaji Ali Bukar Wurge and a registration committee led by Hon. Peter Biye. Bolori urged members to support both committees in executing their mandates.
The briefing, held at the Nanne and Boi Luxury Suites Hotel Conference Hall in Maiduguri, aimed to correct previous statements and signal renewed unity.
Bolori further called on members and supporters to actively participate in the nationwide electronic registration exercise set to begin next week. He described the initiative as critical to strengthening the party’s internal systems ahead of major political activities.
The e-registration drive forms part of broader reconciliation and mobilisation efforts as coalition groups within the ADC prepare for the party congress, where substantive leaders and candidates are expected to emerge in advance of the 2027 general elections.
With internal disputes addressed, the Borno chapter expressed optimism that a united front will enhance the ADC’s political prospects in the state and beyond.
