The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has inaugurated a 20-member Membership, Revalidation, Mobilisation and Registration (MRMR) Committee to oversee nationwide membership exercises, as part of efforts to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The committee was inaugurated on Tuesday in Abuja by ADC National Chairman, David Mark, who described the exercise as critical to establishing a credible and verifiable membership base across the country.
Kashim Imam was appointed Chairman, Aisha Yesufu as Deputy Chairman, and Sekonte Davies as Secretary. Other members include prominent figures such as Sen. Nurudeen Abatemi, Hon. Yomi Arokodare, Remi Fanibe, Dr. Tanko Yunusa, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, among others.
Mark emphasized that the committee’s mandate is to harmonize existing membership records, eliminate inconsistencies, and submit a 30-day interim report to the National Working Committee. He said a strong, well-documented membership is vital for a party’s legitimacy, reach, and electoral success.
He outlined the committee’s key responsibilities:
Oversee nationwide registration of new members with transparency and adherence to party guidelines
Develop and implement membership mobilization strategies, focusing on grassroots structures
Create an integrated e-registration and manual registration system
Recommend standardized procedures for continuous membership management
Strengthen party structures by integrating new members into party activities
Conduct comprehensive membership revalidation across all states and the FCT
Mark urged the committee to carry out its duties with integrity, fairness, and transparency, stressing that the exercise is about inclusion, organization, and repositioning the ADC to meet Nigerians’ expectations for credible leadership.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, Chairman Kashim Imam pledged to work tirelessly to mobilize and register members nationwide, reaching even remote communities. He emphasized that the ADC is a grassroots movement committed to empowering ordinary Nigerians.
“Our party belongs to the average Nigerian,” Imam said. “For too long, the masses have been marginalized. When the ADC comes to power, no Nigerian will be left behind. We will work 24/7 to ensure everyone participates in shaping the party.”
The ADC, adopted in July 2025 as the coalition platform for opposition leaders challenging President Bola Tinubu in 2027, has been steadily building its structures nationwide under the leadership of David Mark as National Chairman and Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary.
