Stakeholders and supporters of the coalition African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Borno State on Sunday organized a 3rd- Day Sallah felicitation in honor of one of its Chieftain, Hon. Attom Magira.
The occasion which took place at Magira’s family house located in Gwange, Maiduguri, the state capital attracted many party loyalists, mostly women and youths, including the ADC State Chairman, Hon. Mohammed Yerima Bolori.
In his welcome remarks, Attom Magira, one of the strong Opposition Leaders in Borno expressed deep appreciation for the honor, which he said, is the first in the political history of Borno.
He enjoined the gathering and other party faithful to use the Sallah celebrations which also coincided with the Christian Lenten period to pray for peace not only in the state, but the nation in general.
He also, on behalf of the National Chairman of ADC, Senator David Mark, one of the national leaders of the party, former Vice- President Atiku Abubakar and Former Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-rufai and the Borno supreme leader of ADC, Ibrahim Mattawali Kashim Imam to exent their own feelings over the devastated suicide attacks in some parts of Maiduguri Metropolis, where they all prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed, and also wished the injured ones quick recovery.
The ADC Chieftain enjoined the people of Borno state to have a united front, join the ADC to bring the needed change for the better come 2027 general elections.
He decried hugely over what he alleged as “unbated economic hardships, unemployment, insecurity and infrastructural decay that were brought into society by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government at the national, state and local government levels”.
The ADC Chieftain however called on all and sundry to join hands with ADC that is determined to bring positive chnage and put smile on the faces of Nigerians come 2027.
The State ADC Chairman, Hon. Mohammed Yerima Bolori in his address, expressed gratitude to the party supporters who came out enmasse for their solidarity to Magira and to the entire ADC family for the Sallah celebrations.
He also lamented over the incessant attacks and killings not only in Borno, but the country as a whole.
He used the occasion and commiserated with the families of those who lost their lives in the recent suicide bombings in Maiduguri, and wished the injured ones quick recovery.
Likewise, one of the women leaders of the ADC in the state, Hajiya Maryam Ibrahim Imam applauded the people over the large turn out, despite the fear and apprehension due to suicide bombings and fear of crowded environments.
She urged women and youths to be united for the victory of ADC ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
