The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the formation of a 50-member Policy and Manifesto Committee, also called the Wise Men and Women Committee, to craft a people-centered agenda ahead of upcoming elections.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, disclosed the development in a statement on Wednesday. The committee was approved by the National Working Committee and endorsed by the ADC National Chairman, David Mark.
The panel brings together seasoned Nigerians from diverse sectors, including former public officials, academics, technocrats, civil society leaders, and policy experts, with experience in governance, economic management, social development, security, and democratic reforms.
Former APC National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, will serve as committee chair, with economist Professor Pat Utomi as deputy chair and Salihu Lukman as secretary.
The committee is tasked with producing a coherent and credible policy framework that reflects Nigerians’ aspirations and positions the ADC as a strong alternative for responsible leadership and national renewal.
The formal inauguration is scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026, at the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja.
Members include Senators Gershon Bassey and J.J. Akpan Udo-Udeghe, Ambassador Abiye Mohammed, former Kogi State Deputy Governor Simon Achuba, Professors Pat Utomi, Ibrahim Garba, Jude Njoku, Anthony Kila, Chidi Odinkalu, and Sam Amadi, among others. Other notable members include Ose Anenih, Nkovo Toyo, Oseloka Obaze, Usman Bugaje, AVM Sadique Abubakar (rtd), Jumoke Olawuyi, Moji Ajayi, Fatima Zara Saleh, and Hafsat Moji Bello.
