Amid circulating reports of leadership changes, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has denied claims that Senator David Mark has resigned as National Chairman.
In a statement issued by the Media Office of the National Chairman, the party dismissed the report as “an insidious fabrication” attributed to individuals it labelled as “puerile, weak, and inconsiderate propagandists”.
The statement stressed that Senator Mark remains the substantive National Chairman of the ADC, adding that there is no discussion or consideration of his resignation by either him or the party leadership.
According to the party, the claim that he has stepped down “exists only in the imagination of those bent on spreading falsehood and creating confusion within our ranks”.
It further maintained that the ADC leadership remains united, focused, and committed to strengthening democratic values while providing credible leadership to Nigerians.
The party warned against what it described as attempts to destabilise its structure, insisting such efforts were driven by fear of its growing political influence ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The ADC, its leadership, and the majority of Nigerians are determined to resist any attempt to undermine Nigeria’s multi-party democracy or impose a one-party system”, the statement added.
Reaffirming its position, the party urged Nigerians to disregard the rumours and remain confident in the stability and leadership of the ADC.
