Nigerian actress Bukola Arugba has publicly criticised Kwara State First Lady, Olufolake Abdulrazaq, over her description of a recent terrorist attack on a church in the state.
The attack occurred on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at a branch of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area. The church program was being live-streamed when assailants struck. Reports indicate that three people were killed, with additional worshippers, including the pastor, reportedly abducted.
In a video shared on Instagram on Wednesday evening, Arugba refuted the First Lady’s claim that the incident was merely an “attempted attack.”
The actress, a native of the Eruku community, confirmed that three of her relatives, her aunt Titi Balogun and two cousins, Ebenezer and Aina, were among those abducted. She accused the First Lady of downplaying the tragedy.
“I read a press release on the Kwara State First Lady’s page regarding the bandit attack in my hometown, Eruku, which totally contradicts the sad truth,” Arugba said.
She continued, “This was never an attempted attack but a successful one. Three people are confirmed dead. Many were hospitalised, and several, including my family members, were abducted. The reports on your page are false and do not reflect what actually happened.”
The actress’s post comes amid growing outrage over the incident and concerns about the accuracy of official communications regarding attacks in the region.
