Abia Warriors technical adviser Imama Amapakabo has described his side’s Matchday 18 victory over Warri Wolves as a “difficult” and “hard-fought” encounter. The Umuahia-based club secured a vital 1–0 win on Sunday, December 21, 2025, thanks to a dramatic 96th-minute penalty converted by star forward Sunday Megwo.
The match at the Umuahia Township Stadium appeared destined for a stalemate as Warri Wolves’ defensive block frustrated the home side for the majority of the 90 minutes. However, deep into stoppage time, the Warriors were awarded a spot-kick, which Megwo coolly dispatched to secure all three points.
“The game against Warri Wolves was a difficult game for us,” Amapakabo told Abia Warriors media. “Warri Wolves did well by containing my players; we didn’t do well in the offensive but I’m satisfied with the victo4ry.”
