American rapper A$AP Rocky has revealed that his relationship with global music icon Rihanna may have been written in the stars long before they became a couple, thanks to his mother’s intuition.
Speaking in a recent interview with The New York Times, the rapper shared that his mother consistently encouraged him to pursue Rihanna, even during periods when he was in other relationships. According to Rocky, his mother was convinced that Rihanna was the right partner for him, despite his insistence at the time that they were only friends.
He recalled that his mother often advised him to reconsider his romantic choices, urging him to focus on Rihanna instead. While he acknowledged having a close bond with the singer, he said he initially dismissed the idea of a relationship, viewing her strictly as a friend.
Rocky noted that his mother remained unwavering, repeatedly describing Rihanna as genuine and well-suited for him. Reflecting on her advice now, he admitted that she was right, adding that “mothers know best.”
The rapper also expressed appreciation for the timing of their relationship, explaining that both he and Rihanna needed to grow individually before committing to each other. He said he was not emotionally prepared for a serious partnership earlier in his life, just as Rihanna was not yet ready for family life.
