he Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara committed no wrongdoing by reconciling with his political camp, describing the move as a return to the platform that produced him.
Speaking on Tuesday after inspecting ongoing road projects in the FCT, Wike dismissed claims that Fubara’s reconciliation amounted to seeking forgiveness after years of political differences.
He said politics should not be viewed in terms of wrongdoing, adding that recognising mistakes and making corrections are part of the political process.
Wike said he had earlier predicted that Fubara would eventually return to the political family where his journey began, adding that the governor’s decision was welcomed.
According to him, the reconciliation would strengthen political cooperation and support efforts to secure votes for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general election.
Meanwhile, Wike inspected major infrastructure projects in the FCT, including the ISEX Road Corridor and the nearly completed Apo-Karshi Road.
The minister expressed satisfaction with the pace of work on the ISEX Road, saying the contractor had assured the administration that the project would be ready for commissioning in December.
