The African Democratic Congress (ADC), in Rivers State has dismissed reports suggesting that a faction of the party has collapsed into the Rainbow Coalition, a political group linked to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
In a statement on Tuesday, the party’s state publicity secretary, Chizy Enyi, said there is no faction within the ADC in Rivers State, insisting that the party remains united under its constitution and the leadership of its recognised National Executive Committee, NEC, led by Senator David Mark.
The party said individuals claiming to represent the ADC in the reported alliance are neither recognised officials nor authorised representatives of the party.
It described the alleged political declaration and endorsement as personal actions that do not represent the position of the ADC or its members.
The party also faulted references to an alleged “Ibe Kachukwu faction,” challenging anyone to identify such a recognised leader or stakeholder within the party’s structures at either the state or national level.
The ADC accused those behind the reports of attempting to create a false impression of division within the party and urged media organisations to verify information through its official channels before publication.
It further called on security agencies, including the police and the Department of State Services, to investigate individuals allegedly impersonating party officials.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to protecting its identity and integrity, assuring members and supporters in Rivers State that it remains united and focused on providing credible leadership.
