The government continues to issue tough warnings against political violence while facing criticism over a lack of concrete action following the chaos witnessed during the Ol Kalou by-election.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen on Thursday dismissed reports of widespread goon attacks, insisting that Kenya is “safer than ever.”
However, both Murkomen and President William Ruto have previously criticised the Church for allegedly shielding Gen Z protesters during the 2024 demonstrations. Murkomen has also accused former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of assembling a militia ahead of the August 2027 General Election.
