President Donald Trump says the United States is prepared to launch further military strikes against Iran, warning that an underground nuclear facility known as Pickaxe Mountain could be the next target.
Speaking during a White House meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, Trump said the US was “far from finished” with Iran and claimed the site near Natanz would be hit “very heavily”.
Pickaxe Mountain is a deeply buried nuclear complex that Western intelligence agencies suspect is being developed as an undeclared uranium enrichment facility, although Iran has consistently maintained that its nuclear programme is for peaceful purposes.
Trump said the damage already inflicted on Iran’s military and nuclear infrastructure would take decades to repair, adding that Washington has no immediate plans to halt its military campaign.
His remarks come as tensions continue to escalate across the Middle East, with Iran stepping up attacks against U.S. allies in the region, including Jordan, Kuwait, and Bahrain, two weeks after hostilities between Washington and Tehran resumed.
The latest developments have heightened fears of a broader regional conflict, as diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the crisis remain stalled.
