Former Big Brother Naija winner Mercy Eke has revealed that while the reality show transformed her career, she believes it has made it more difficult to find a life partner.
Speaking during an interview with media personality Toke Makinwa, the reality TV star said she sometimes regrets participating in the competition because of its impact on her personal life.
Although she acknowledged that the show opened doors to numerous opportunities, Eke said the experience has complicated her journey toward marriage.”I regret going to Big Brother even though I love the benefits that come from it.”I dey fall in love like mumu. Now I said to myself that I want to marry, is it in this bed I want to marry from?” she said.
The entrepreneur also spoke about financial challenges she has encountered in past relationships, revealing that she had repeatedly supported former partners financially.”I have dated guys that I have given a lot of money to, not one, not two, because they don’t have,” she disclosed.
According to Eke, the fame and visibility that came with winning Big Brother Naija have brought significant professional rewards, but they have also made it harder to build the kind of stable romantic relationship she desires.
Her comments offer a glimpse into the personal challenges she says have accompanied her success since emerging as one of the show’s most prominent alumni.
