FIFA has selected American referee Ismail Elfath to handle the 2026 FIFA World Cup semi-final clash between England and Argentina.
The football governing body confirmed that Elfath will officiate Match 102 at Atlanta Stadium on July 15, with kick-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m. EDT.
He will be assisted by compatriots Corey Parker and Kyle Atkins, while Italy’s Maurizio Mariani will serve as fourth official. Another Italian, Daniele Bindoni, has been appointed as the reserve assistant referee.
Elfath’s appointment comes ahead of one of the tournament’s biggest fixtures, as defending champions Argentina face England in a battle for a place in the final.
Argentina are targeting a second successive World Cup final appearance, while England are aiming to reach their first final since winning the competition in 1966.
