Precision airstrikes on a terrorist enclave in Yaganari deal another blow to insurgents as the Nigerian Air Force vows to sustain relentless operations alongside ground troops…..
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its offensive against terrorist groups in Nigeria’s North-East, carrying out precision airstrikes that destroyed a key terrorist enclave in Yaganari, located within the Gezuwa general area of Borno State.
The operation, conducted on Thursday, July 10, 2026, was executed by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) following credible intelligence indicating renewed terrorist activity and the gathering of fighters in the area.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions confirmed the existence of terrorist hideouts and logistics facilities before the strikes were authorised.
According to him, the carefully coordinated air operation successfully hit the identified targets, destroying critical infrastructure used by the terrorists while neutralising several fighters.
The Air Force described the latest offensive as another indication of the sustained pressure being exerted on terrorist groups, noting that continuous air operations are restricting their ability to move, regroup and rebuild their operational strength.
Reacting to the success of the mission, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, praised the personnel involved for their professionalism and commitment to the operation.
He reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s determination to maintain aggressive air campaigns in close coordination with ground forces until terrorist groups are completely dismantled.
“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to deliver decisive air power in concert with surface forces to hunt down, disrupt and destroy terrorist elements wherever they may seek refuge. We remain committed to ensuring that terrorists have no safe haven and no opportunity to recover their capabilities,” the Air Chief said.
Air Marshal Aneke added that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain focused on consolidating the gains already recorded in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign, stressing that military operations will continue until lasting security is restored in affected communities.
