Nollywood actor Ricardo Agbor has spoken about the emotional journey that led to the birth of his twins after 18 years of marriage, saying faith and patience carried him through the long wait.
In a recent interview with AfricanAList, Agbor revealed that he and his wife experienced nearly two decades without children before they eventually welcomed a set of twins—a boy and a girl.
The actor said he remained committed to his marriage despite the challenges, adding that he had specifically prayed for twins and believed his prayers would eventually be answered.
Agbor also dismissed assumptions that marrying outside his ethnic group would create conflict in his home. According to him, his decision to marry a woman from another tribe did not affect the peace and stability of their relationship.
Reflecting on the difficult years of waiting, the actor said many people might have chosen a different path, but he stayed faithful to his wife and trusted God for a breakthrough.
He disclosed that their twins are now 14 years old and described their birth as the fulfilment of a long-held prayer.
Beyond his testimony about fatherhood, Agbor also recounted one of the darkest moments of his life—the death of his mother.
He said she had been receiving treatment for about three weeks without showing signs of recovery before doctors recommended transferring her to South Africa for further medical care.
According to the actor, his mother instead requested to be moved to another private hospital in Surulere. He said she died in his arms as he was helping her into a vehicle for the transfer.
Agbor described the incident as the most painful experience of his life, saying it was the first time he had cried outside of acting roles.
