Flamingos head coach Akeem Busari has expressed confidence that his team will qualify for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Nigeria will face Benin Republic for a spot at the tournament scheduled to take place in Morocco later this year.
The first leg is set for Saturday at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, while the return fixture will be held at Stade de Kegue in Lomé next weekend.
Busari’s side advanced from the previous round after a dominant 11–0 aggregate win over Guinea, and the former Shooting Stars coach believes they can continue their strong form in the qualifiers.
“Everybody really wants to be part of the competition proper, and Nigeria being a consistent contender, it’s going to a tough game,” Busari said ahead of the game.
“I believe they are prepared, and we are prepared as well. The 90 minutes here is going to be very important. I believe we are going to carry the day by God’s grace.”
