A Europe-wide manhunt is underway for a Ukrainian woman accused of carrying out a bomb attack in Monaco that injured three people, including a Ukrainian-born businessman and his 13-year-old son.
The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Anastasiia Berezovska, is wanted on charges of attempted murder, criminal conspiracy and using an explosive device. Interpol has issued a Red Notice for her arrest.
Investigators say she disguised herself as a man, carried out surveillance of the apartment building before the attack, and remotely detonated the explosive device as the victims returned home from dinner.
German police have searched her apartment near Frankfurt but say she remains at large. Prosecutors believe the sophistication of the explosive device suggests she may not have acted alone.
The bombing has shocked Monaco, with Prince Albert II describing it as a “heinous crime”, as authorities in Germany, France and Ukraine continue efforts to track down the suspect.
