Residents of Kuje, Gwagwalada and neighbouring communities now have a major boost in transportation and economic activities following the commissioning of the Phase One Kuje-Gwagwalada Dual Carriageway by President Bola Tinubu.
Represented by Vice President, Kashim Shettima, at the inauguration in Abuja, President Tinubu said the project reflects his administration’s commitment to extending development beyond city centres and ensuring that no community is left behind.
The President described the newly completed 7-kilometre dual carriageway as a critical infrastructure project that will improve security, ease movement, and enhance commercial activities across the area councils.
He noted that the road, which features solar-powered streetlights, pedestrian walkways and drainage systems, will help farmers, traders, students and residents move more safely and efficiently while opening up new economic opportunities.
Tinubu also appealed to Nigerians to remain supportive of his administration’s reforms, acknowledging current challenges but assuring citizens that the measures are aimed at delivering lasting prosperity.
He further commended FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for driving infrastructure development in satellite towns and expanding access to essential services beyond the capital’s city centre.
In his remarks, Wike said the project demonstrates the effectiveness of the FCT Administration’s community-focused approach to development and reflects the government’s determination to improve living conditions across the territory.
The road is expected to significantly enhance economic and social activities in Kuje, Gwagwalada and surrounding communities.
