Norway forward Erling Haaland has identified France as his favourite to lift the 2026 FIFA World Cup trophy.
The Manchester City striker made the prediction after inspiring Norway to a 3-2 victory over Senegal on Tuesday, a result that secured his side’s place in the Round of 32.
Haaland scored twice in the encounter and will now lead Norway into a final group-stage showdown against France in the coming days.
Reflecting on the upcoming clash, the striker suggested that France remain one of the strongest teams in the competition and are well-positioned to go all the way.
“We managed to get through, which is incredible, so I couldn’t care too much about that game now.
“They’re probably going to win against us, they’re probably going to win the whole tournament,” he said.
Norway and France are currently level on six points at the top of Group I.
