Social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has confirmed that he received an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following a petition filed against him.
The development comes after a complaint submitted by legal practitioner Blessing Agbomhere of Blessing Agbomhere & Partners, which called for a comprehensive investigation into the financial activities, sponsorships, and funding sources of VeryDarkMan and activist-lawyer Deji Adeyanju.
Reacting via his social media platforms, VeryDarkMan described the invitation as part of a broader attempt to silence dissenting voices in the country.
He alleged that the petition was politically motivated and orchestrated to discourage criticism of the current administration.
According to him, members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are allegedly using legal mechanisms to target individuals who openly speak against government policies.
“They want to stop us from speaking against this evil government that has failed to protect the lives of Nigerians. So, they used their people to write petitions,” he wrote on Instagram.
The EFCC has not issued a public statement confirming the scope of the invitation or details of the petition at the time of filing this report.
