Global tech giant Meta has introduced a new suite of AI-powered features on Facebook aimed at helping users find answers more quickly, create shareable content, and edit photos with greater ease, the company said in a post published on its website on Monday.
At the centre of the rollout is “AI Mode,” a new search experience powered by Meta AI and built on the company’s Muse Spark technology. Meta said the feature is designed to move beyond traditional search results by drawing on what people are publicly sharing across its platforms, including Groups and Reels, to surface more contextual and experience-based answers.
According to the company, AI Mode is intended to make search feel more conversational and grounded in real user perspectives rather than generic listings. It is also integrated directly into existing Facebook experiences, allowing users to access assistance while browsing their Feed or exploring content more deeply.
Explaining the intent behind the new rollout, Meta said the tools are designed to simplify how users interact with content and create media“Today we’re rolling out new features on Facebook to help you find answers to your questions, create fun photos and videos, and make things happen with the help of AI,” the company said.
Meta added that the tools are focused on efficiency and ease of use across everyday tasks.“They can help you get more done with less effort, whether that’s finding real answers from real people, creating content that’s ready to share, or turning a quick idea into something bigger,” it added.
On the integration of AI Mode within the platform, the company described it as a natural extension of how users already engage with Facebook.
“It’s another way Meta AI, powered by Muse Spark, is showing up for you in the experiences you already use,” Meta said.
It further emphasised that the assistant is designed to be continuously available across different user activities.
“Whether you’re searching or diving deeper into content, Meta AI is right there, ready to help,” the company added.
Meta is also upgrading its camera roll sharing experience with new AI-powered editing tools. These include collage cutout templates designed for moments such as recent friend hangouts, as well as new transition effects that help users create smoother, more stylised video montages.
The company said the aim is to help users surface memorable content that might otherwise be overlooked.
“Sometimes your favorite captures can get lost in the shuffle, or you simply don’t have time to create something special. With just a tap, create standout videos and collages you’ll actually want to share,” the company wrote in its post on Monday.
Meta stressed that these sharing suggestions are opt-in features and can be disabled at any time.
The update also introduces AI-powered photo presets that allow users to modify their appearance in images, including changing clothing, hairstyles, and accessories. One of the features enables users to virtually try on items such as sports jerseys.
Users can access the tool via the AI Edit icon in Stories by selecting “Wear It,” or through the “Restyle profile picture with AI” option on their profile picture, followed by selecting “Wardrobe.”
Meta has, in recent years, steadily expanded its AI capabilities across its platforms as part of a broader push to reshape how users create and consume content globally.
In August 2025, it was reported that Meta had launched an AI translation tool capable of automatically dubbing and lip-syncing Reels into multiple languages, helping creators overcome language barriers and reach wider audiences.
According to the company, the system goes beyond basic translation by replicating a creator’s voice tone and style while also synchronising lip movements with the translated audio.
