Farmers in Kenya’s breadbasket of the North Rift are apprehensive about this year’s harvest following a shortage of top-dressing fertiliser in the region.
The farmers are blaming the Ministry of Agriculture and the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) for poor planning in the importation and distribution of subsidised fertiliser, a situation they say threatens the country’s food security.
