Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane has named himself and teammate Michael Olise among the leading candidates for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
The England captain also identified players from Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning UEFA Champions League winners, as strong contenders for the prestigious award.
Kane believes an English player stands a strong chance of claiming the prize if the Three Lions triumph at the World Cup in North America.
“I’m definitely among the favorites for the Ballon d’Or,” Kane said.
“If England win the World Cup, surely you can see an English player winning it.
“When you look at the favorites: You have myself, Olise, and the players in the Champions League final.
“I saw that the ceremony was in London, and maybe that’s a good omen for me. Winning it in my hometown would make it even more special.”
