Kenyans turned out in large numbers on Monday for the 2026 Madaraka Day celebrations in Wajir County, as the government continued its policy of rotating national events across the country.
The Wajir fete marks the seventh national celebration to be held outside Nairobi, following similar events in Embu, Kericho, Bungoma, Kwale, Homa Bay and Kitui County, which hosted last year’s Madaraka Day celebrations.
