Shooting Stars head coach Nurudeen Aweroro has commended his players and support staff after the club secured a third-place finish in the Nigeria Premier Football League and qualified for continental football for the first time in more than 20 years.
The Oluyole Warriors sealed a top-three spot at the end of the season, earning a return to Africa’s club competitions.
Aweroro credited the achievement to the dedication of the players and backroom staff, while also acknowledging the support of club chairman Hon. Taiwo Lekan-Salami.
“To God be all the praise — He made this possible, I’m deeply humbled to lead this group,” Aweroro stated in a chat with the media.
“My heartfelt thanks to Hon. Taiwo Lekan-Salami for the belief and backing.
“If I’m honest, my role was small. The heart, sweat, and sacrifice came from the players who gave everything, and the staff who worked day and night out of sight.
“Media and fans, I’m begging you — celebrate these boys and the backroom team more. They deserve every cheer, every headline.”
