Speaking during an interview on The Beat 99.9 FM, Cubana Chief Priest said his rise to prominence was built on years of apprenticeship, discipline and hard work, noting that success often attracts both admiration and hostility.
He claimed that Burna Boy once took to his platform to make remarks directed at him, which he described as attacks on his wealth and personal achievements.
“I was on my own and Burna Boy came for me… and the attack was straight to my wealth. So he wanted to make people look at my wealth, disrespect my wealth,” he said.
According to him, the incident was linked to his friendship with Davido, suggesting that the rivalry within the entertainment industry influenced the fallout.
Cubana Chief Priest maintained that Davido has remained supportive of his business ventures over the years, crediting the singer with attending the openings of his nightlife establishments and other projects.
“David is always there for me. He opened all my nightclubs, restaurants, everything. He always shows up to support me,” he added.
He further noted that Davido has continued to expand his own investments in Lagos nightlife, while he pursues music and other ventures as part of his personal growth.
The comments add another layer to the ongoing public tensions and rivalries within Nigeria’s entertainment scene, particularly among high-profile figures in music and nightlife culture.
