As Muslims celebrated Eid across the country on Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, joined worshippers in separate prayer grounds, offering prayers and messages centred on peace, sacrifice and national unity.
President Tinubu observed the Eid prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos alongside Muslim faithful and top political figures.
He was accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; and Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, among others.
The President’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, disclosed this in a post on his X account.
According to him, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside former Governor of Lagos State Babatunde Raji Fashola and other Muslim faithful, observed the Eid Mubarak prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos State”.
Meanwhile, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar joined Muslim faithful at the AYA Mosque in Abuja for the Eid prayers. In a post shared on his social media account on Wednesday, Atiku said the prayers were offered in gratitude to Allah for His countless blessings.
“I joined fellow Muslims this morning at the AYA Mosque in Abuja to observe the Eid prayers in gratitude to Allah for His countless blessings,” he wrote.
Atiku also urged Nigerians to embrace unity, compassion, sacrifice and peace during the celebration.
