Nollywood actor Chinedu Ikedieze has been honoured with a traditional chieftaincy title in Eluoma Uzuakoli Autonomous Community, Abia State.
The award-winning actor, widely recognised for his role in the classic film Aki na Ukwa, announced the recognition on his Instagram page.
He was installed as a chief with the title IHIE 1 of Eluoma Uzuakoli Autonomous Community, a cultural honour conferred by the community.
“My people, I present to you Chief Chinedu Ikedieze – MFR, IHIE 1 of Eluoma Uzuakoli Autonomous Community, Abia State,” he wrote.
Ikedieze, popularly known as Aki, is one of Nollywood’s most recognisable comic actors, with a career spanning decades.
He was previously awarded the national honour of Member of the Federal Republic (MFR) in 2010 in recognition of his contributions to the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Traditional chieftaincy titles in Nigeria are typically bestowed on individuals who have contributed to the development, cultural preservation, or social advancement of their communities.
The latest honour adds to Ikedieze’s long list of recognitions both within and outside the entertainment industry.
