Popular Nigerian music executive Don Jazzy has sparked online reactions after joking that he may consider finding a wife outside Nigeria, mentioning Uganda and Tanzania as possible options.
The Mavin Records boss made the comment during a light-hearted exchange with fans on Instagram, after a follower described him as an “African treasure” who belongs to the entire continent rather than just Nigeria.
“You are actually not wrong. Sometimes, I feel like I’m Ghanaian, sometimes South African. Sometimes I feel like I’m Ugandan even though I haven’t been to Uganda, and I hear it’s hot there,” he said in response.
He further joked about his love life, suggesting that his search for a partner in Nigeria has been unsuccessful and might lead him to explore other African countries.
“I heard that the babes there are nice… Maybe I should go and find a wife in Uganda or Tanzania,” he added.
The playful remark quickly gained traction online, with fans from Uganda, Tanzania, and other countries responding in his comment section with humour and excitement.
Don Jazzy’s personal life has long attracted public interest, particularly his previous marriage, which he has spoken about openly in the past. The music executive revealed in 2021 that he was once married to Michelle Jackson at the age of 20, though the marriage ended after about two years.
He later attributed the separation in part to his deep commitment to building his music career.
Despite ongoing curiosity about his romantic life, Don Jazzy often engages fans with humour, maintaining a light-hearted public persona that continues to endear him to audiences across Africa.
