Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has shared a deeply personal story about why she joined the film industry, revealing that her decision was shaped by a painful separation from her children.
Speaking during an emotional interview, the actress said her entry into acting was not motivated by fame or stardom, but by a desire to remain accessible to her children as they grew older.
“I actually started acting so that when my children grow up, they would be able to, at least, I never thought of being a star, at least know where to find me,” she said.
Bukky Wright explained that she lost access to her children at a young age after marrying into a wealthy family that allegedly doubted her future success.
According to her, the situation left her separated from them during their early years.
“My children were taken from me when they were very young because I married into a very wealthy family, and they could not think I would become anything in this life. And here I am today,” she added, drawing applause from the audience.
Despite the emotional setback, Wright went on to build a successful career in Nollywood, becoming one of the industry’s respected veteran actresses.
In 2025, she celebrated a significant family milestone when her son, Eniola, held his wedding ceremony with his partner, Sara Bonet. The actress shared moments from the event on Instagram, expressing gratitude and joy.
Her latest revelation has sparked renewed attention on her personal journey and long-standing career in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
