The Super Eagles on Monday evening held their official training session at the Charlton Athletic Stadium (The Valley) ahead of Tuesday’s 2026 Unity Cup opener against the Warriors of Zimbabwe.
A total of 20 players took part in the training session, with Head Coach Eric Chelle in charge.
The players included goalkeepers Francis Uzoho, Arthur Okonkwo and Michael Atata; defenders Igoh Ogbu, Chibueze Oputa, Chibuike Nwaiwu, Obinna Igboke, Tijani Al-Ameen and Elias Ochobi; midfielders Alhassan Yusuf, Tochukwu Nnadi, Samson Tijani, Aderemi Adeoye, Junior Ayobami and Tosin Oyedokun; and forwards Terem Moffi, Philip Otele, Rafiu Durosinmi, Owen Oseni and Femi Azeez.
The Eagles and the Warriors battled to a 1–1 draw in each of the two legs of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying group, with Zimbabwe hosting Nigeria in Huye, Rwanda before Nigeria hosted the Warriors in Uyo.
Tuesday’s encounter promises fireworks between the two African sides, ahead of the clash between Jamaica and India — the other teams in the tournament — on Wednesday.

Morocco 2026: Flamingos Return, Set To Finish The Job Against Guinea On Sunday
After a commanding 5–0 victory over Guinea in Abidjan, Nigeria’s U17 girls, the Flamingos, have returned to camp in Ikenne-Remo as preparations shift immediately to the decisive second leg of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
The delegation departed Abidjan on Sunday morning aboard ASKY Airlines, leaving Côte d’Ivoire at 9:35am local time and arriving in Lomé, Togo at 10:35am. They later departed Lomé’s Gnassingbé Eyadéma International Airport for Nigeria.
The team arrived at their training base in Ikenne shortly after midnight. The return marks the start of another crucial phase as attention turns to the second leg scheduled for Sunday, 30 May at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
Having produced an emphatic first-leg display in Abidjan, the 2022 World Cup bronze medallists will aim to finish the job on home soil as Nigeria’s push for qualification continues.
