The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has scheduled Saturday, June 13, 2026, for the conduct of the mop-up examination for candidates affected during the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, revealed this in a Statement made available to TV360.
JAMB disclosed that the mop-up examination is specifically for candidates who presented themselves for the UTME and were successfully biometrically verified but could not sit the examination due to one challenge or another.
The 2026 UTME was conducted nationwide between April 16 and April 23, 2026. However, the Board said some examination centres experienced technical issues that prevented several candidates from taking the examination.
In addition, some candidates had their results withdrawn over examination infractions, while others who appeared for the examination could not be verified biometrically.
According to JAMB, all affected candidates have now been listed for the mop-up exercise, which it described as the final phase of the annual UTME process.
The Board explained that the examination is intended to address all outstanding issues involving candidates who duly presented themselves for the examination but encountered difficulties that prevented them from participating fully.
JAMB advised affected candidates to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from Saturday, June 6, 2026.
The Board urged candidates to familiarise themselves with their examination centres and make adequate arrangements ahead of the examination date.
It stressed that there would be no further opportunity for any candidate to sit for the 2026 UTME after the mop-up examination.
