The Nigeria Football Federation has congratulated Nigerian international players who won league and cup titles with their respective clubs across Europe this season.
President of the federation, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, praised the achievements of the players, describing their accomplishments as proof of their quality, consistency and class.
“The NFF is very happy with the achievements of these players in their various clubs and leagues. It is a thing of joy to see our players winning trophies here and there, as it presents assurance that they are in good form to deliver whenever any international match or tournament comes up.
“We congratulate them warmly and wish them greater heights, while charging them not to rest on their oars but rather pursue even greater glory in their different stations,” Gusau said.
Victor Osimhen won the Turkish Super Lig title with Galatasaray after playing a key role in the club’s successful campaign.
Defender Zaidu Sanusi also emerged a champion after FC Porto won the Taça de Portugal, while his Super Eagles teammate, Terem Moffi, equally celebrated success with the Portuguese side after joining on loan from OGC Nice in January.
Midfielder Raphael Onyedika won the Belgian Pro League title with Club Brugge, while forward Kelechi Iheanacho helped Celtic FC secure a league and cup double in his first season in Scotland.
Defender Igoh Ogbu also celebrated success after Slavia Prague won the Czech First League, while goalkeeper Francis Uzoho helped Omonia Nicosia claim the Cypriot First Division title.
Defender Semi Ajayi was also among the title winners after Hull City secured promotion to the English Premier League through victory in the Championship play-off final.
In the women’s game, Christy Ucheibe enjoyed a trophy-laden campaign with SL Benfica, winning the Taça de Portugal Feminina, Taça de Liga Feminina and the Super Taça de Portugal Feminina.
Super Falcons defender Shukurat Oladipo was named the best defender in the Serie A Femminile after helping AS Roma Women win the title.
Forward Rinsola Babajide, who joined AS Roma from UD Tenerife, also contributed to the club’s successful campaign with two goals in nine league appearances.
