Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has achieved a historic streaming milestone, becoming the first African artist to surpass 11 billion total streams on Spotify across all credited works.
The record was confirmed on Tuesday by music analytics platform Chart Africa via a post on X (formerly Twitter), which highlighted the singer’s unprecedented global performance on the streaming platform.
According to the platform, Wizkid is the first African musician to cross the 11-billion-stream threshold, further cementing his position as one of the continent’s most commercially successful music exports.
The milestone comes at a time of renewed activity in his catalogue, following the release of his collaboration with DJ Tunez titled “State of Mind”.
Released on May 15, 2026, the track reportedly recorded more than 685,000 global streams on Spotify within its first 24 hours, reflecting strong early listener engagement.
Wizkid’s latest achievement adds to a long list of international accolades and streaming records, underscoring his continued influence in the global Afrobeats movement.
