Socialite and businessman Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
Okechukwu had sought the party’s ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections but was defeated by the incumbent lawmaker, Canice Moore Nwachukwu, who is currently serving his second term in office.
The outcome ends his immediate bid to represent the constituency under the ruling party’s platform.
Okechukwu, who has been an active supporter of the current administration, has also been involved in political mobilisation within the All Progressives Congress.
He previously served as Imo State director of the City Boy Movement, a youth-oriented group campaigning in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The businessman’s political ambition had attracted public attention in recent months, especially given his high-profile status in Nigeria’s entertainment and social circles.
