Nigerian international Kevin Akpoguma is prepared to bid farewell to TSG Hoffenheim this summer, bringing a lengthy chapter of his career to a close. The 31-year-old center-back first arrived at the club from Karlsruher SC in 2013, eventually becoming a staple of the squad after developmental loan spells with Fortuna Düsseldorf and Hannover 96.
However, with his current contract nearing its expiration and the club opting against a renewal, Akpoguma’s time in Sinsheim is officially reaching its conclusion.
The veteran defender has seen limited action during the current campaign, featuring in only eight matches for Die Kraichgauer. This weekend’s home fixture against SV Werder Bremen at the PreZero Arena will serve as a final opportunity for the former German youth international to play in front of the Hoffenheim faithful before he enters free agency.
