Talent manager Louiza Williams has disclosed that fear and uncertainty almost prevented her from managing Afrobeats singer Kizz Daniel at the beginning of his music career.
Williams, who previously worked with Nigerian singer Waconzy, described joining G-Worldwide Entertainment as a major turning point in her professional life.
Speaking about the experience, she said several influential figures in the entertainment industry had recommended her to the label at the time, increasing the pressure surrounding the role. “Industry voices, media personalities, executives — my name was moving in rooms I wasn’t even present in,” she said.
Despite the opportunity, Williams admitted she struggled with fears about whether the artist would eventually succeed.
According to her, she worried about the possible backlash she could face if the project failed.
“I kept asking myself, ‘What if he doesn’t blow? What will people say about me?’” she recalled.
She explained that her concerns began to ease after a conversation with Emperor Geezy, the head of G-Worldwide Entertainment, who reassured her of his commitment to Kizz Daniel’s career growth.
Williams also revealed that discussions with entertainment executives and a Lagos-based disc jockey convinced her that Woju had strong commercial potential.
According to the talent manager, prayer ultimately influenced her final decision to accept the role.
“That ‘yes’ didn’t just change a project. It changed my direction, my vision and my life,” she said.
Kizz Daniel later emerged as one of Nigeria’s leading Afrobeats artists, with Woju becoming one of the defining breakout songs of his early career.
