Colombian pop star Shakira has announced a collaboration with Nigerian Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy for the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The track, titled Dai Dai, was unveiled in a teaser shared on Shakira’s X account on Thursday before being reposted by the official FIFA World Cup handle.
According to the announcement, the song is expected to be released on May 14.
“From Maracanã Stadium, here is ‘Dai Dai,’ the FIFA World Cup Official Song 2026. Coming 5/14. We’re ready!” the post read.
The teaser was filmed at Maracanã Stadium and hinted at a high-energy soundtrack blending Afrobeats and Latin pop influences ahead of the global football tournament.
The collaboration has already generated widespread reactions online, especially given Shakira’s history with FIFA World Cup music through globally recognised songs such as Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) and La La La (Brazil 2014).
For Burna Boy, the partnership marks another major international milestone as Afrobeats continues to gain visibility across global entertainment and sporting platforms.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be jointly hosted by United States, Canada, and Mexico.
