Nigerian actress and former Big Brother Naija housemate Bisola Aiyeola has shared details about the death of her daughter Leyla’s father, describing the experience as deeply heartbreaking.
Speaking during an interview on Ife Agoro’s show, the actress recounted how he passed away in 2018 while receiving treatment in hospital for an undisclosed illness.
According to Bisola, family members had remained optimistic about his recovery after doctors reportedly fixed a discharge date. She said they had visited him in hospital alongside her daughter and other relatives before his condition unexpectedly worsened.
The actress explained that she had spoken with him over the phone shortly before his death and believed he was recovering.
“He was sounding better and said he would be discharged on Friday,” she recalled.
However, days later, Bisola said she received a phone call from someone using his phone, informing her that he had died.
The actress described the moment as devastating for her family, including her mother and sister. She also revealed that telling her daughter, who was eight years old at the time, about the loss was one of the most difficult experiences she has faced.
Bisola further noted that despite their separation, Leyla’s father remained actively involved in their daughter’s life and maintained regular contact with her before his passing.
The actress has continued to receive support from fans online following the emotional interview, with many praising her openness about grief, parenting, and healing.
