Blake Lively made a high-profile appearance at the Met Gala in New York on Monday night, just hours after filmmaker Justin Baldoni settled a legal dispute involving the film It Ends With Us.
The actress arrived on the red carpet in a pastel gown featuring shades of peach, purple and yellow, with a bejewelled bodice and a flowing train. The outfit aligned with this year’s theme, Costume Art, and the dress code “Fashion Is Art”.
Her appearance comes as Baldoni and other parties involved in the legal case confirmed that a retaliation lawsuit linked to the production of It Ends With Us had been resolved. Lawyers for both sides issued a joint statement describing the film as “a source of pride” and saying they hoped the conclusion would allow those involved to move forward.
They also acknowledged concerns raised during the dispute, adding that “workplaces free of improprieties” remained a shared commitment and expressing hope for a “respectful environment online”.
The legal disagreement, which began in late 2024, centred on claims surrounding the production environment of the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel.
Lively’s Met Gala appearance also coincided with renewed attention on her ongoing film projects, including the recently released sequel Another Simple Favor, which premiered on Prime Video.
