Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer Davido has issued an apology to fans after failing to appear at a scheduled performance in Lagos, attributing the incident to logistical challenges involving aviation fuel availability.
The artiste, whose real name is David Adeleke, was expected to headline a show alongside rapper Zlatan Ibile at the Secret Place nightclub in Ikate Elegushi on Sunday. The event was organised as part of the venue’s fifth anniversary celebration.
However, Davido did not show up, prompting disappointment among fans who had gathered for the performance.
In a post shared via his Instagram story on Monday, the singer explained that unforeseen travel disruptions affected his plans, making it difficult to secure fuel needed for flight arrangements.
He described the situation as part of broader global challenges impacting travel logistics, noting that the issue forced a rescheduling of his commitments.
Davido apologised to fans who attended the event, expressing regret over his absence and assuring them that he intends to make it up to them in the future.
He also congratulated the organisers of the anniversary celebration, reaffirming his support and promising to appear at a future date.
The incident highlights ongoing concerns around aviation fuel availability and its impact on flight operations and event scheduling.
