Democracy for Citizens Party leader Rigathi Gachagua has mounted a strong defence of former President Uhuru Kenyatta following criticism from a section of Kenya Kwanza leaders, who have accused the retired head of state of engaging in active partisan politics.
Gachagua insists that Kenyatta retains full constitutional rights to participate in national discourse. This comes even as Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen accused Kenyatta of undermining the stability of the current administration.
